nightwings

distinguishing features of nightwings include their antlers, starry-sky wings, and small silver scales along their body (called starscales). their scales are in the dark gray-to-black range, often with cool-colored undertones. it is uncommon but not unheard of for nightwings to have piebald scales, i.e. have white blotches. their antlers can range in color from dark brownish gray to off-white. antlers grow their whole life long and gain another branch every 5 years. nightwings can breathe fire, which is generally white (with a tinge of their eye color bc it looks cool). nightwings born under a single moon will be either mind readers or seers. nightwings born under two moons will be both. nightwings born on a brightest night will have both enhanced, often being able to control their powers better.

pre-darkstalker: the nightwings live on the front claws of pyrrhia. the capital lies directly behind the mountains seperating their peninsula from the mainland. the central great diamond plaza is on fairly flat terrain, with the exception of the queens palace, which is built atop a smaller peak. the palace, the school, the library, and the museum make up the corners of the great diamond. many commoner homes are built directly into cliffs and caves. even buildings that have an external component often feature underground rooms. many homes, but especially those of higher-ranking dragons have some sort of balcony or tower open to the sky to put eggs on during full moons. buildings are mostly made of stone, with black marble being the most expensive and fancy building material.
post-darkstalker: they live on a volcanic island north-east of pyrrhia, not too far from the skywing kingdom, but not visible from the mainland.
